To BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} From Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} c. to Wor.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} +36866 Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}3/LG26.11.26. DISTORTION OF BRAKE BRACKETS DUE TO x5470 INTENSIFIER ON GREASEGUN. Although we agree that an instruction should be sent round explaining to customers how the intensifier should be used, at the same time we think we ought to modify the design so that there is no possibility of the intensifier causing the brakes to jam. A full report as regards the 20 HP. was sent through by us (Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/AJL/LG12.2.26) in which we made definite recommendations, and carried out tests which prove that with a very slight modification the 20 HP. brakes can be made so that the intensifier has no ill affect.
