BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} FROM DA.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} C. to RI. HS.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} EAC.10. CROSS IN FRAME. X7380 X7420 In working on N. sch. 2539. we found it desirable to modify the forward end of the cross in order to get the tubular member as high in the frame as possible, and also to give us necessary room for the brake gear. We therefore send N. sch. 2546. herewith shewing what we propose, but we think it is desirable to await R's approval before getting far with the detailing. It will be noticed that we have made slight alterations in the tubular cross member and its flange, and in the gusset plates etc, as compared with the original scheme. Will you please send us an extra print for R.{Sir Henry Royce} DA.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} | ||
