No. 9940 REF: Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/ACL/1/C19.5. 19940 To DA.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} from Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} SECRET. EAC.111. BRAKE LINKAGE "ADOPTED" SCHEME. Referring to your DA{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}3/M9.5.24. with attached figures for levers to give the required ratios of front braking and rear braking, we note that you assume in your calculations a torque multiplication by the servo of 3.9. From our experiments on the M.DES.60 servo with 45° thread, we find that the average torque multiplication due to the servo only is approx. 2.4. As the distribution ratio depends upon this figure, we propose to test the servo used on this scheme and adjust the leverages to give the required distribution of 5/3 5/4 and 5/5. For the purpose of experiment we do not see that it is necessary to alter the ratio of the arms of the balancer lever for the above distribution ratios. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/ACL. | ||
