Dear Mr. West,

Mr. Russell has discussed with me the electric speedometer that you are developing and which you were good enough to submit to us. Curiously enough, it is somewhat on similar lines to a development which I have myself been directing in connection with Messrs. Ferranti. Experiments date back to June 1929, when Mr. Watson suggested the matter to me.

I should like to take an early opportunity of coming down to discuss the whole matter with you and ascertaining how far we can co-operate.

Yours very truly,
