Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} from R.{Sir Henry Royce} RG.{Mr Rowledge} c. to BJ. HL. X7060 R5/M7.5.28. PHANTOM VALVE STRETCH. X. 7060 X. 8060 We can scarcely believe that the stretching is entirely due to the slightly higher percentage of silicon. We believe it is necessary - (1) to change to the heavier design of exhaust valve, (2) scrap all valve steel and valves with dangerously high silicon. Let there be no half-way: we must cure these troubles as far as we know how. For a long time we have been looking for a comparative test of the Austintite valve steel. R.{Sir Henry Royce} | ||
