X 217 Exptl. Dept. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Gry.{Shadwell Grylls}12/KW. 4th September,1935. Messrs. Ogden & Co.,. 12, Hanover St.{Capt. P. R. Strong},. Shudehill, Manchester. Dear Sirs, We are sending you a drawing of the friction lining we use for the crankshaft damper of our Bentley car. This lining is not entirely satisfactory as it has insufficient strength. We wonder whether you could supply us with either cork rings or washers consisting of linen with cork fixed to either side. If you are able to manufacture cork in this sort of shape, we shall be glad if you will send us a dozen washers for experimental purposes. Yours faithfully, FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LIMITED. Enc: E.55092. | ||
