We think there is a tendency to drag in the question of speed as being of the utmost importance in all cases, a point which I consider to be a mistake.

The chassis was called for as a standard Long chassis for demonstration purposes, and undoubtedly it will be used for the major portion of its life demonstrating in and out of the City, and whilst it may very occasionally go to France I do not think that such a consideration should determine the type of springing, which, of course, must be decided by the type of running it is likely to have to do for the major portion of its work.

Personally, I am not sympathetic with the fitting of Hartford friction shock dampers on this chassis, as I consider
