contd:- -2- Failing this the seats and the roof must be raised at least the 1" suggested, or the driver must be inclined or clear- ance made so that he can rest backwards, in which case it may be necessary to economise 2" in the body somewhere behind the drivers' seat, such as having sliding or fixed window for six seater. If this cannot be done theonly alternative is to have a longer frame by the 2" here required. Considering the light car and small engine this is very undesirable and we think that the standard should be arranged as originally proposed by me to be really occasionaly seat should not be fitted if it absorbs room or only used in extreme emergency, as in the case of taxis when inconvenient crowding can be tolerated for short distances. For "D" steering also has had the pedals pushed forward making this also more comfortable for a long legged man; this seating was not bad when correctly carried out, as instructed. For the construction of bodies for Goshawks I under- stand there is a list of what to avoid. I have not seen this list, and it has not been to the Engineers for their agreement before printing but I believe it avoids attempting the impossible, such as a six seater with drop windows between drive and passengers etc. I should like to have a copy of this list at once, as it may same some correspondence.
