JAPAN 3. REAR ANCHORAGE OF FRONT SPRINGS.

Derby have complained on the score of cost, of the present 25HP. anchorage, which is built up of sheet metal pressings, with brazed inserted bosses for shackle pins and lubrication fittings.

We have suggested that the whole thing might be forged solid, similar to the proposal for the front anchorage of the rear springs, and send herewith print of N. scheme 3207.

There is a difficulty with the set in the frame which is also encountered with the present pressings. In a new frame such as may be required finally, this difficulty could be removed.

N. scheme 3207. assumes that it is found possible to remove the tie-bars. If this is not so the eye for the tie bar could also be included in the forging, as on print of N. scheme 3209. herewith.
