X3578 X.1086. X.3231. The American Bosch Company, of this city, have submitted sample starter motor and generator, together with performance curves. We have now received three motors and generators - the Bijur, Westinghouse, and Bosch. I attach photostat prints of three charts taken from the charts submitted with the machines, showing:- 1...Torque against amps. 2...Torque and H.P. against R.P.M. 3...R.P.M. against current. On the Torque curves in the second chart, the dotted lines at the low R.P.M. are intended to represent roughly the probable stalling torques taking account of battery resistance. Electrically speaking, the Bosch Motor corres- ponds closely to our own or to the C.A.V. and Lucas which we tested in 1918, showing a maximum efficiency of about 60% at 120 amps., and developing about 12 ft. lbs. torque for 200 amps. its maximum H.P. is about 1.2.
