-3- of the engine body and your suggestion concerning same, Mr Royce says - "Yes, but do not decrease strength or rigidity, and concerning the suggested lightening of the existing 7/16" webs by casting holes as per sketch, or by reducing thickness 7/32", Mr Royce says - "I should pre- fer holes to an alteration in thickness. With reference to the saving of 5½ lbs from the bottom half of the crank- chamber, Mr Royce remarks - "Excellent" and with reference to the 1½ lbs saved from the small cover in the base, Mr Royce remarks - "Splendid" With reference to the lightening of the silencer outlet, Mr Royce remarks :- "If you refer to the final exhaust outlet this is to be altered to over the axle and is to be made of aluminium. A test of the present one would be good. | ||
