Herewith Distributor scheme D.CD.973, together with Cam Form D.CD.971. This is an eight point distributor intended for use on first B.80 engine. To avoid wasting time on die sinking we have included DW.111 Distributor Head, from an old design-LeC.4276, dies for which already exist. At a later date we should like to modify this Head to give increased sparking distances and more suitable clip slots. The new cam D.CD.971 is necessary to provide .020 gap at contact points, as is present practice (cam to LeC. 4276 gave .034). The rest of the unit is similar to D.CD.838 (Distributor for B.60) using Lucas governor, shaft, condenser etc., but slight alterations to contact adjusting plates have been made to give required positions of contact levers.
