DASH LAMPS. X.1357

We notice on the Goshawk Trials Cars, and also on a number of new 40/50 cars, that the C.A.V. type instrument board lamp is being used.

We consider that the C.A.V. is ugly and cumbersome, and also in the case of the Goshawk we do not require a lamp with a switch because the switch is already provided on the R-R Switch Box.

We attach herewith price list of lamps and fittings from Culver-Stearns Mfg. Co. Detroit, Mich. which gives a whole range of instrument board lamps. We have used type C.179.A. with the single contact. It is possible that style "S" might be more satisfactory in some cases. We suggest that the "Bull Dog" type lamp might be the most satisfactory for the 40/50 which requires double contact and self-contained switch.

We suggest that as the rest of the instrument fittings are black finished, the lamps should also have a dull-black finish.
