X-33 Wor{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager}6/T4.10.33. ------------ from Wor.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} Copy to Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} EV.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork} SFT.{Mr Swift} Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} 3½ Litre Bentley Chassis. I have carefully considered your E5/HP28.9.33, and whilst naturally one would prefer to wait for the result of the further 10,000 miles test of the Bentley Car and for Standardisation Sheets to be fully signed up, I realise, owing to the fact that we are wanting chassis badly, we shall have to take some risks. (1) Section 5000 Crankcase and Bearings. I agree with all your remarks, and have decided that we can go ahead to the extent of the first 100, with the exception of the crankcase. I believe that 50 will be sufficient for the moment) (2) Crankshaft Agree to 50 in this case. (3) Piston Agree with your recommendation, but think at the moment, we should not go more than 50. (4) Cylinder Agreed, go ahead. (5) Camshaft. Agreed, go ahead. (6) Brake for Dynamo Drive. Agreed, go ahead. (7) Air Silencer. Agreed, go ahead. (8) Water Pump Think we should go hand to mouth without stopping production. (9) Petrol Pump Agreed, go ahead. (10) Oil Fittings Agreed, go ahead. contd: | ||
