Light
Re Axle and Torque Tubes.

In the light back axle I intended that the torque tube should be taken as a standard of strength so that in every direction that the axle is struck it should have equal resistance.

By some means the axle tubes have been made smaller.
I now think that especially with double brakes that they should be larger or stronger in proportion to the torque tube please therefore increase these to something over the size of the torque tubes but not so big as our old ones ( see drawings ) this will make the central box naturally stronger by better lines as well as decrease of stress internal spigot ing will be less expensive.

The torque tube is also shown straight - in our drawing I want this in one piece if convenient but do not delay the work for this.
