3 I.D.46. S.S. Battery, PoR. cell no 6. Threaded Rubber, flat + The positive plates were fair having only lost a small amount of paste, but the peripheries & grids were badly broken & distorted due to growing. The horizontal bars had the apices facing inwards. The negative plates were good, but the active material had blown out as in cell no 2 above. The Threaded Rubber separators were poor, being very brittle & badly pierced due to the flat side facing the positive plates. The distorted grids pressed on the separators piercing these & thus allowing the plates to come into contact with the paste of the negative plates which had blown out. There were 5 vertical ribs on each separator these facing the negative plates. A moderate amount of sediment had collected which did not reach up to the plates by 1/2" (cont'd) | ||
