Hallam - Head Repairs} } En. } X.995 Chassis Instruction Book. Re Use of Benzol. X.53 ------------------------- Arising out of R's memo R7/G26.1.20., and as discussed with Mr Hives :- In the re-print of the book which we are putting in hand we propose to qualify the present references to the use of benzol (page 25) by the addition of the undermentioned paragraph and by deleting the recommend- ation to avoid mixtures of petrol and benzol. Will you please indicate as soon as possible if this does not meet with your approval. "In preference to using plain benzol, however, we recommend that a mixture of petrol and benzol should be employed, in the proportions of from 20 to 50% benzol. This will be found to give most of the advantages of benzol with a proportionate reduction in its disadvantages. What ever proportion is utilised it is imperative that only the purest benzol should be used as otherwise injury to the fuel system and the engine may result." Bn{W.O. Bentley / Mr Barrington}/N.W.
