x4704. To EV.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork} from E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} c. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} re Vulture. I am sending you herewith a print of LeC.3636 shewing a full scale view of the rear seat cushion on No.1. Vulture chassis. Owing to the limitations regarding carrying the rear shock dampers and clearing the shock/damper levers on maximum bump we have had to raise the seat board at the rear end until it is now level, as shewn on this drawing. This means that the cushion compressed measures only 2" at the extreme rear instead of 2¾". The extreme front edge of the cushion compressed still remains 5½". We do not thinkthis matters as regards the first body particularly as the cushion can be made to bulge downwards within the seat frame, and thereby retain the thickness directly underneath the passenger. If you do not think this is good enough, however, perhaps you will instruct what modifications are necessary to slightly raise the top of the cushion and if necessary the roof of the body.
