F.R. Banks, Esq.,

Dear Banks,

We have two samples of fuel here of which we should like to know the knock rating. If any of you happen to be up in the district, in the near future, could you call and collect them ?

I have seen various curves purporting to give the increase in compression ratio permissible with increased fuel knock rating. I wonder whether it is possible for you to provide me with an authentic curve showing what this variation is.

I was interested in the curve which you supplied, published in the I.A.E. November Journal, showing the response of No.1 fuels to Benzol and should very much like to have one or two copies if you could spare these.

We are trying some stellited valves in the steel recommended by Heron, and will let you know how they go along.

Yours sincerely,
