Hardy - Chief Dev. Engineer} Ev.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork}11/MH.{M. Huckerby}24.11.39. MINUTES OF MEETING AT SQUASH COURT NOVEMBER 22nd. 1939. (1) 3 1/2-litre 6-cylinder engine. We are to put in hand details of this engine by using the Tracing Office immediately, as it is the engine required for Ripplett. (2) Ripplet Bonnet. This bonnet should have a B.V. top hinge and steel top plates. The Ripplet bonnet is 1.650" shorter than that of Ripple. (3) Rippletto Transmission. We are to produce 1/4 scale schemes of the following (a) R.R. gearbox and axle. (b) Minx gearbox and Salisbury axle to be ready for Friday's Conference. (4) Rippletto Clutch. It is agreed to use a 9" clutch and we need a drawing of a suitable clutch from the makers. Would Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Gry.{Shadwell Grylls} please get this for us ? (5) Propellor Shafts - Ripplet. It was agreed that we should use schemes for a split shaft as on B.V. and a scheme for a 21" extension to the gearbox and a single prop. shaft to enable Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Gry.{Shadwell Grylls} to get comparative costs of the two schemes, instead of producing corresponding schemes for the Myth for this purpose.
