Timing Gears.

Condition good.

Oil Pump & Drive. LOP.EB.3908.

Except for minor scores on the inner walls of the casing, the pump itself is in reasonably good condition.

The taper pin securing the top driving gear to the shaft has sheared and the gear itself, Ex.32668 in Caro-bronze, is damaged on the diameter of the teeth and in the distributor drive slots, as shown on the attached photograph. The keyway of the gear is worn locally by the key to a depth of approximately .030" and the teeth show signs of excessive wear, due to the incorrect bedding on the camshaft, resulting from the taper pin failure.

Distributor Drive.

The lower boss of the distributor drive shaft is burred over on the top edge. This also, is apparently due to the end movement of the oil pump driving gear permitted by the taper pin failure.

Water Pump. LOP.EB.3933.

The rotor spindle (S.K.F. sealed bearing type - Assembly EB.3930) shows signs of rather excessive corrosion; the attached photograph is for comparison of the existing spindle with a new one of the same type.

The small locating pin in the EB.3932 sealing washer has sheared and the rotor is worn .003" on the thrust facing.

The water pump unit is otherwise in good condition.
