R.R. 493A (40 H) (EL 42 12-7-23). J.H., D.{John DeLooze - Company Secretary} -2- EXPERIMENTAL REPORT. Expl. No. 9940 REF:Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}1/LG23.2.24. (4) On the pivot which carries the steering lever, two of the nuts which hold the brake on to the pivot come at the back of the flange formed on the pivot to carry the lever. These nuts are inaccessible and cannot be tightened with a standard spanner. (5) We recommend the twenty one 2-BA bolts which hold together the two halves of the brake carrier should be locked by means of grover washers and not riveted. It is necessary for this to be taken apart whenever new Ferodo has to be fitted. (6) The lubricators on the bearings for the operating shaft fixed to the axle are inaccessible especially the one which comes between the two brake covers. We recommend that we reverse the brackets so that the lubricator comes underneath instead of on the top. (7) We consider every precaution should be taken to try and protect the bearings in the brake operated shaft on the axle from mud. When the car is run in wet weather we find that the whole of the exposed brake parts get drenched in mud and water. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} | ||
