British Filters Ltd.,
Aircraft House,
MARKET HARBOROUGH.

For the attention of Mr.T.Worth.

Dear Sirs,

Mr.Robotham has shown me samples of oil taken from your engine at various mileage intervals since fitting the "General" filter.

They do show a considerable cleaning of the oil up to 250 miles, but the 400 miles sample looks just about the same as the 250 miles sample.

Judging by the dirty state of the oil sample before the "General" was fitted we would say that there is a possibility of the filter being choked and that it would be interesting to fit a new cartridge and see if the oil can be recovered to its original amber colour.

Before starting any comparative tests the engine should be full to capacity and the samples taken to be a minimum amount (two drachm bottles) are sufficient, so that the possibility of having to top up with new oil is reduced to a minimum.

We are returning under separate cover your samples.

We are awaiting the detail drawing of the filter body which you promised us and can then complete our drawings for the samples of finished jobs required by us, in the meantime, however we should be please if you would send us 4 filter cases complete with filters of the normal type, i.e. with brackets in normal fixed position

Yours faithfully,

for ROLLS-ROYCE LTD.
