Cost of Bentley Aluminium Drums.

We are wanting to obtain a comparison of cost of production of the above and Millenite drum, and we think that the best way to get this is for you to give us the cost to you of the two different types of drum, as we are not convinced that the Cost Office assessment of costs is strictly to be relied upon.

We would like to know the cost to you of an aluminium drum to Ex.20720 but with fixings of type Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/36 inclusive of all machining of the N.M.C. liner but without cost of the liner forging, which we are obtaining from By.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer}, or the special taper bolts in the hub or the hub itself.

Also the cost to you of a 12" Millenite Bentley rear Drum, complete with end plate and bolts securing same, but without cost of hub or hub fixing bolts, assuming that the design was new and everything had to be bought specially. We imagine the cost of Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/2144 and its end plate would be good enough although this is a 14" front drum.

The aluminium drum so far tested is very good, but we would like to know if production costs would render it prohibitive.
