To BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} from Da{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}/EV.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork} c. to Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} 48830 EV{Ivan Evernden - coachwork}3/M31.10.27. EAC.14. X. 8774 X. 8830 X. 8420 X. 8530 X. 8410 Whilst making the detailed drg. of the coachwork for the fist two sports cars, we came across the following slight modifications which we would like to have made to the chassis before it leaves. Brakes lever. X. 8420 We would like to use the 'D' type levers as shewn on the chassis print which you sent to us, but we want to move the top of the lever in 1.000 ins. and to reduce its forward travel by the same amount. The former can be easily done by modifying the set in the lever. If the latter would cause much trouble or delay we might manage without it. Rear spring. X. 8410 We wish the Enots on the front shackle of the rear spring to look straight out and to have no angle adapters. The gaiters of the rear springs should have the Enots on the under side and be laced on the top, like those used on the subframe cars. Framed instruments. X. 8530 Further to our note re. the six sets of framed instruments which you are preparing, we suggest that two sets should be reserved for the first two sports cars. We suggest that, since we may expect a rev. counter will be demanded, we might let it take the place of the clock, the latter finding a home outside. If Derby would send us particulars of the rev. counter which they recommend, we would see if we could arrange this, when doing the instrument board. EV.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork} | ||
