8583 43841 To E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} RG.{Mr Rowledge} DA.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} from R.{Sir Henry Royce} c. to BJ. Wor.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} ROLLS-ROYCE LIMITED DERBY R1/M13.2.27. CARBURETTERS FOR RR. F.10. X.3933 X.3841 X.3932 If Claudel or Stromberg or anyone else can supply us with carburettors better than we can design ourselves, with knowledge which is free to all, (unpatentable) or with our own special patentable features, we should be quite willing to let them supply, or allow us to make on licence. Naturally the British Government will insist upon every part of our aero engine being made in Great Britain, and also for perfection of workmanship and detail design, it is generally an advantage to us to make all parts which are special to our engines or other productions. (It should also help our Establishment charges.) R.{Sir Henry Royce} | ||
