Answering your PN{Mr Northey}3/WT24.6.30, it was by intention at the time of issue of the last version of the above book that there was no reference to the possible use of a very smooth file for cleaning up the make and break points of ignition contact breaker, as at that time, which was shortly after the standardisation of tungsten contact points, such cleaning wasnot considered necessary. Latterly however, we have recommended that to enable customers to clean these points when necessary we should include in the kit a small piece of flat carborundum which should be duly mentioned in the Instruction Book. In this connection we are sending you a copy of our EFC1/AD3.3.30.

In the new 40/50 HP. Instruction Book we have definitely referred to the cleaning up of the contact points by the use of a carborundum strip, this is now being supplied in the kit.

Production will now probably arrange to issue a leaflet and supply carborundum strips retrospectively in the case of the 20 HP.
