twelve copies for February, 1941 that you requested; if not, please let me know, as I shall pay the office a visit next-week. You may be amused to know, in confidence, that I recently approached another Company making a fast, expensive car, for permission to test their product and, no petrol being available, managed to get the car booked-up for a 1,000 mile run under Air Ministry sanction โ petrol quite legitimately provided and a chance of some useful publicity in influential circles, quite apart from the write-up. Alas, the makers have replied that they do not wish me to do over 200 miles as they cannot now get replacements. A good story with which to pull "W.O.'s" leg?! I do realise what favourable treatment you gave me, for I must have done over 700 miles with the Mk.{R. E. B. Meade-King} V โ I feel tempted to beg it again for this run, but one must not be greedy..... Moreover, such cars make my Gwynne 8 seem quite pathetic. Yours truly, W. Boddy, Editor. MOTOR SPORT. | ||
