Re. Car 2579. Tappet springs.

We send you herewith four tappet springs which were found broken in the engine of the above car at Cricklewood.
We think it is a matter to take up with the spring makers, especially as there may be more.

With reference to the tappet springs off the above car, I should be glad if Mr Hives would kindly advise me whether he has found these springs to give trouble on the valve spring testing rig which he has recently been running.
I ask this because if they perform satisfactorily on the rig then it is reasonable to conclude that the design is not at fault.
