OUTPUT PERFORMANCE.

From running tests made on the bench, it was found that the machine was capable of giving an output under night running conditions, of 13.5 amperes without overheating. This output was reached at a speed of about 14 M.P.H. The output was, however, held down by the regulator to about 13.0 amperes which was reached at a speed of about 20 M.P.H. The cutting in speed was about 6 M.P.H.

The operation of the regulator when in the hot condition, was found to be extremely unsteady due, we believe to alteration in the surfaces of the contacts. Further work, however, is being carried out when a report comparing the three types of regulator - Scintilla, Bosch and CAV-Bosch, will be issued.
