re Lorry Bogy for 1.B.50.

Dear Ward,

Many thanks for your letter of May 1st. 1940.

I agree that a full size drawing of the lorry cannot and should not be made.

I did think, however, you might plant a sheet of tracing paper over the back parts of the already existing full size drawing of 1.B.50. Saloon and shew on the main outline and structural members of the lorry body framework.

This is because we believe our frame as a bending member aft of the axle, will not prove to have sufficient rigidity and we wish to use the side of the lorry body, suitably braced with steel angle, so as to form a beam or Warren Truss as shewn on the scheme.

Provided this is achieved without a scheme I shall be happy.

I certainly agree to 4 hoop sticks if you are sure 4 such sticks will be adequate.

As soon as Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} returns, I will let you know about the colour to paint the whole outfit and any lettering required.
