(5) We have left you for 3.B.5. a print of PD.277 shewing the battery of that car under the offside front seat.

The battery will be in this position on 2.B.50 but the problem of the body crossmembers will be the same in as much as this car has no division, and sliding front seats, therefore PD.277 should be used for 2.B.50.

As we noticed that the body has not yet had its crossmembers fixed, we anticipate that you will be able to incorporate these design modifications without material delay.

(6) The rear axle and propeller shaft clearance on this car can be set out from PD.272 handed to you for the Bentley III. The position of the forward universal joint on the propeller shaft is exactly the same relative to the rear axle on this car as on 3.B.5. although the frame has been lengthened 6", the increase has been added at the centre of the cross. The rear floor of 2.B.50 being higher, the propeller shaft tunnel almost disappears.

Yours faithfully,
FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LIMITED.
W Harvey Bailey
CHIEF ENGINEER - CHASSIS.
