Hy.{Tom Haldenby - Plant Engineer} From Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Les.{Ivan A. Leslie} C. to S. C. to Hor. J.III AND PEREGRINE PEDALS. In order to prevent the clutch pedal from oscillating up and down due to its own inertia, it is necessary to add a spring thackery washer on the pedal shaft, so as to apply a slight amount of friction on the pedal. Recently with the first P.2. canti lever type pedals on production, which had no spring washer, a complaint was made with regard to pedal movement. We have therefore had to continue the use of the thackery washer on P.2. similar to that used on the previous type pedals in order to overcome the complaint. J.III and Peregrine suffer from the same complaint. Will you please arrange for a thackery spring washer to be included on the pedal shaft of these chassis, so as to apply a slight amount of friction on the clutch pedal.
