Dear Sirs, We beg to acknowledge receipt of your esteemed order No.89479 and confirm our telephonic conversation of this morning. The order calls for an instrument for 20 h.p. chassis 16.G.4 to blue print F.81019 for 11/50 axle gear ratio, 680 r.p.m. We were compelled to 'phone you because of the following points:- (1) Blue Print F.81019 calls for instrument 90 mile dial, but being for a 20 h.p. instrument, we had to clear up and note this must be supplied with 80 mile dial. (2) The position of the Ring Lugs should be altered 35° which means that our new Die Cast case, which has already been made for the Lugs in the other position, will need to be entirely renewed at a cost of not less than about £30. We are, therefore, making up one sample by hand for your experimental purposes with the Lugs in the position called for on this blue print.
