Description of Parts.
Dynamo Pinion and Idler Gear in S/ZNX (not hardened) Brinnel 364-387.

Origin.
Difficulty in quietening in production due to distortion after hardening.

Report of Experimental Test.
Satisfactory 15,000 miles test on 6.B.IV. Gear teeth in good condition and no wear as measured in that there was no increase in backlash after the above test.

- Cost of Old Part: MATERIAL £- 4s. 7d., LABOUR £- 12s. 10d., CHARGES £1 2s. 5d., TOTAL £1 19s. 10d.
- Cost of New Part: MATERIAL £- 4s. 2d., LABOUR £- 8s. 7d., CHARGES £- 15s. 0d., TOTAL £1 7s. 9d.
