Referring to your C.4/D.18.6.37 - the figures for lap speeds which we gave you were taken with various fans and drives fitted to the car.

As mentioned in report of these tests which we are issuing shortly, we found that an improved fan with 5 blades, running at engine speed instead of the standard speed of .9 X engine speed, gave adequate cooling for any conditions liable to be met with in this country at any rate - further it is, we think, acceptable from the point of view of noise.

We are arranging for a dozen of these fans to be made and put at the disposal of Cricklewood for use in cases of repeated complaint, and we shall standardise the fan and drive on the completion of 15,000 miles in France on 32-EX.
