10. BRONZE CRADLES.

Some discussion took place with regard to the difficulty of machining the bronze cradle.

It was agreed that under no circumstances would bronze cradles be allowed to hold up production and Mr. Ashworth said that the Admiralty would accept aluminium cradles until such time as bronze was available.

When the bronze cradle is introduced, the other aluminium parts of the gun will also be replaced with bronze.

11. CONTRACT WITH THE ADMIRALTY.

It was agreed that the B.U.S.M. would forthwith write to the Admiralty and submit the production schedule produced at the Meeting.

At the same time, they will take over the production order for 525 guns for the Admiralty. Messrs Rolls Royce will retain the contract for 25 guns for the Air Ministry.

12. MOUNTINGS.

The mountings will be dealt with entirely separately from the gun and it is anticipated that a contract will be placed directly with the L.M.S. by the Admiralty.

Admiral Whyham is sending down a representative shortly.
