- Smith, Esq. -2- 1st. March, 1940. By adjusting the valve timing slightly later, the lost power at the top would probably be regained, but low speed performance would suffer. Finally, we would say, that although the valve actually opens to the cylinder (after passing through the recessing) as from a "quick lift cam", we can see no advantage to be gained.
