Mr. Hancock from Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rn.{Mr Robinson}

Thank you for your letter of the 3rd. I suggest moderating the pivot lubrication to cut down the unsteadiness of the steering, as we cannot get any more consistent friction from the cross steering tube.

Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} says it doesn't matter whether you do the full 9000 miles or not, he wants PN.{Mr Northey} to have the car with the best undershield you can manage and with Ferodo front shoes on for preference.

Will you try and kill all the rattles you can before letting PN.{Mr Northey} have the car. Also with the [struck-through g] reference to how you leave the column, it is entirely what you think, if you consider it will remain O.K. for 1000 miles with the two light stays and the semi-isolation, let it go at that.

We should like you to impress upon PN.{Mr Northey} as far as possible that if he wants to get the best out of the car suspension, he must use the Hartford adjustment.

Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rn.{Mr Robinson}
