Nº 3.

Truffault Shock Absorber.

straining point, and to avoid damaging the overhanging part of the shock absorber, as nothing must work slack by the moving backwards and forwards of the levers.

However, there is nothing to stop us from replacing the cast iron brake by one of treated steel, thus making same more springy, the proportion of which would have to be calculated. The cast iron one is, however, sufficiently strong if the usual precautions are taken.

N.B. Drawing Nº (of Expedition) 4272. This was made for the first model, and the measurements of the Boss are not correct; same are shown on the other drawing.

Drawing Nº 4868. Note must be taken that the measurements of the lever do not correspond with the models sent you. Of course these levers can be modified by the Works according to their requirements.

If the collar referred to, is adopted, it would be preferable to have the ball end at the bottom half of a sufficient length. Furthermore, the Ball End, which figures on Drawing Nº 4268 is incorrect, as the form has been altered, and the thread suppressed.

Kindly note that Drawings Nos 4269, 4270 & 4271 are merely designs which are given you by way of indication as to how these shock absorbers were fitted on Peugeot chassis.
