I had no means of finding out whether this back axle and the rear brakes had been through the lightening process that I had suggested should be done before we re-commenced manufacture.

I am, however, obtaining the drawings from Derby of the B. axle as it stands, and will endeavour to considerably reduce the weight in several ways. I may say that I feel sure this can be done, providing we take care not to weaken the parts where there are changes of stress, either in intensity or direction.
