Order No. SC129 Customer's No. X4617S Re Failure of P&R cell in S4 Battery (15) One P&R cell has failed in this battery after being on our bench life test for 22 mths{Reg Matthews} & ran 31,000 miles on the road. Its age is 3 yrs 4 mths.{Reg Matthews} Failure was due to accumulated sediment which had reached up to the plates causing a short. The negative plates & separators were in excellent mechanical condition. The positive plates were poor having lost a good amount of paste, the grid being very weak. The remaining cells are being used for replacements. Signed: G.J. This Sheet must be filed on completion of the work. | ||
