Front Wing Stays. BJ23/E1/11/26

A Standardisation Sheet has been sent to me from the Works in regard to the front wing stay which has been tried for 10,000 miles in France on 12-EX and found satisfactory, and these stays are similar in design to the 20 HP.

The Works state that the cost of the present brackets supplied with the chassis is £2.3.3 and that the new front wing stays will cost £2.3.6.

Presumably it is better to give front wing stays in place of the present brackets?

Do you feel confident that, if we supply the wing stays, the coachbuilders will use them and not scrap them, as we do not want to supply something costing £2.3.6 merely for the coachbuilders to scrap.

I understand, however, that coachbuilders do use our 20 HP stays and, therefore, probably will use Phantom stays if we supply them.

Kindly let me have your opinion in order to enable me to sign the standardisation sheet.

I presume Sales officials including the Coachbuilding Committee have had an opportunity of seeing these stays and satisfying themselves that they are of the right shape, dimensions, etc. to suit coachbuilders and to suit the design of bodies which we recommend for our customers?

BJ.
