We have received your letter of the 16th.

We have no knowledge of petrol containing lead being procurable in France, but we are making investigations.

We are watching the cross member you spoke about, and, so far we have not observed any twisting. The rubbers were not actually in line to start with, but so far this alignment has not altered.

BRAKES.

The wear up to the present mileage has been very little, one half turn on the NS{Norman Scott} front none on the offside.

Two half turns on both the rear.

We are not obtaining the front braking that we should and are looking for reasons other than the Servo, which we believe is efficient. We have noted that the setting of the front equalizing shaft levers are too forward - one tooth in the equalizing box. This reduces the leverage to the brakes. We are therefore going to alter this condition.
