8H2 + 4H2 To By/NS.{Norman Scott} from Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/FWK. Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/FWK.6/JH.17.5.39. BENTLEY V AND BENTLEY 50. REAR SHOCK DAMPERS. With regard to Da{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}'s. memo. on the above subject, we have not yet come to any definite decision about the depth of the rear springs, since no interleaving has yet been standardised. However, the depth of the spring with the heaviest poundage and the thickest interleaving is 2 7/8". It is most unlikely that any spring we use will be deeper than this.
