C O P Y. X1113 To RM.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} Paris. Aug. 26th.1936. Re Stromberg Carburetters. We have made a modification to the float chamber needle valve stand pipe to allow vapour to escape more quickly to the breather pipe. There will always be a certain amount of vapour, after standing, collect in the delivery pipe to the carburetter. The vapour at present has to pass up the stand pipe of the needle valve, and is more or less restricted by the needle. To allow more freedom for the escape of the vapour, we have drilled two 1/8" holes in the stand pipe, approx. half way down.
