re. 20-HP DYNAMO NOISE. V4688 [struck through] X4383

I have just been testing Dynamo No. 603A on a chassis on test.

This dynamo was originally returned as being very noisy and has now been fixed up with a new cast iron end bracket, as suggested by you some time ago.

The noise of this dynamo is certainly improved. There is still, however, a certain amount of "hum" when charging, which can be cured by the temporary resting of a weight on the end bracket.

I should like to try a few more dynamos which we have complained of being noisy and which have received similar treatment and see whether this experience is confirmed. The matter is urgent.
