1260 Sg{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} [crossed out] Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} [crossed out] c. Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} BY.10/G.27.6.39. CARS FOR FRANCE. Two cars are leaving for France on Friday of this week (June 30th). The cars in question are :- (a). The 'Corniche' (Paulin B.V.) (b). The 'Silver Phantom' (8 cylinder Silver Wraith). Before the end of July, we shall send out two others :- (a). The 'Silver Ripple'. (b). 'Silver Dawn' (Short wheel base - Wraith, fitted with C.I. six-cylinder engine). If our policy was modified and 'Silver Ripple' was required early, then this car could go to France at once and be run in place of 'Silver Phantom'. It is purely a question of congestion of our test work in France, which limits us to two chassis on serious test there at once. [Handwritten signature: By] BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} | ||
