-2- As the offside wheel does only three revolutions more than the nearside on a 10 miles circuit, is the fitment of an articulated rear axle justified ? Both back tyres were capable of doing 4 hours at 160 m.p.h. and the offside front appeared to be in excellent condition after 2 hours with little wear. (b) For 300 m.p.h. car, rear wheel drive, to operate on a straightway run, the suspension is as per prints attached. Is there anything you can suggest as an improvement on what is shown ? Total weight of car 4 tons, with 5,700 lbs. approximately on rear axle. Yours very sincerely, (Sgd.) George Eyston. | ||
