To By.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} H B Kingsbury, August 13th, 1937. Phantom III Front Brake Stop. I am sorry I missed your telephone call this morning. I had called at Cricklewood to further investigate the layout of the front brake system. I am not quite clear with regard to the nut you mentioned yesterday on the top of the pivot, but during my talk with Mr. Cliburn I learnt that an outside brake stop was fitted to a car last Oct. 3-AZ-28 which from what I can learn was brought down by Archer and given to JLE.{J. Lee Evans - Chassis Test Manager} Cliburn informs me that it was superior to the ones that were fitted but why it was not adopted no one seems to know. There is no reason however why a plate could not be fitted under two of the top pivot nuts which would control the lever attached to the pivot. To adjust it would mean filing to suit. top of pivot.
